E3 2012 Recap: Microsoft

Hey everyone! One of the biggest gaming expos, E3 2012, is now completed. Many new games have been revealed, new gameplay has been shown to games that were shown on last year's E3, and the new Wii U was displayed for gameplay. Here are some of my favorite games that were debuted in this year's E3. The first thing will talk about is Microsoft.

Microsoft

Halo 4

For those who thought that they finished the fight with Halo 3 were sorely wrong. 343 Industries is releasing a new trilogy of Halo games known as the "Reclaimer Trilogy". Halo 4 will focus more on mystery, exploration, and discovery. Master Chief returns in this trilogy and the plot will involve with him and Cortana landing in a mysterious Forerunner planet after being lost in space in the end of Halo 3. Here's the gameplay for your enjoyment.

Assassin's Creed III

I did my First Impressions  on this game, so I'm not going to go in much detail. We did our first look into its gameplay, which was indeed awesome! It has the same feel of the previous Assassin's Creed games, but has a fresh feel to it with the wintery forest setting. Here's the gameplay for your enjoyment.

Resident Evil 6

This new Resident Evil takes place in three different areas controlling three different characters. The first one involves Jake Muller, the son of Albert Wesker, in Eastern European state of Edonia. He's running away from the authorities during a bioterrorist attack. During Jake's adventure, he partners up with Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 2. The next one involves Leon Kennedy, the main protagonist from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. Leon S. Kennedy and his new partner Helena Harper is going after the infected president of the United States after a bioterroist attack hits Washington, D.C. The third one involves Chris Redfield, the main protagonist from Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and Resident Evil 5. He and his new partner Piers Nivans are tackling a bioterroist attack in Lanshiang, China.

It promises to be the biggest, most epic Resident Evil game yet. Here are the gameplays of JakeLeon, and Chris for your enjoyment.

Gears of War: Judgement

Not much has been shown or revealed about this new installmentbut we were given a new trailer. Enjoy!

This new installment of Splinter Cell puts us back on the stealth adventures of Sam Fisher. This time he's taking down a new terroist organization known as the Fourth Echelon. Here's the gameplay for your enjoyment.

Tomb Raider

I had doubts about it when I first heard about this reboot, but ever since last year's E3, I was proven wrong and had gotten excited about it. This year is no exception. We saw more gameplay looking like it's taking the Uncharted route. It's darker, grittier, more violent, and Lara is more vulnerable as we venture into her origins before she became the badass chick we know today. Here's the new gameplay footage.

While the games were pretty good, everything else about Microsoft was pretty underwhelming. Similar to last year, Microsoft revealed gameplay on games we already knew were coming out. As for the accessories and the Kinect games, they overwhelmed the entire presentation. While the Microsoft SmartGlass looks pretty cool, everything else was meh. The whole Usher performance trying to hype up Dance Central 3 was pushing it a bit. There were no new announcements on any IP games and no new information about the next console. Overall, I'll give them a C+. Here's hoping that they'll improve next E3.

What do you think? Agree or disagree? Post it in the comments below and let me know.

Tune in next time as I talk about Sony. Hope to see you around Old School Lane real soon. Take care.
